Bulldogs improve to 5-0 in 5-4A
Burkburnett completed a perfect first half of District 5-4A play on Tuesday
night with a 15-11, 15-5 victory over Hirschi.
The Lady Bulldogs (15-12, 5-0) were sparked by Tonya Pickett (13
hits, nine kills, nine assists) and Julia Graham (11 hits, six kills and four
blocks).
Burkburnett also was sharp on serve as Shera Taylor (15-of-15) and
Brittany Willson (9-of-9) were perfect.
Hirschi (4-20, 0-5) fought hard in game one before falling to the
experience Lady Bulldogs at the end. The Lady Huskies were led by Amy Augspurger
(five hits, two kills, one block) and Jennifer Foster (five hits, one kill, four
blocks).
"It was a great match and both teams fought hard,"
Hirschi coach Tracy Honea said. "We played well in the first game, but then
we stopped hitting and being aggressive."
